Owen Wetzel, LCSW, MSW, received his Masters in Social work from the Rutgers University School of Social work. His area of emphasis throughout graduate school was in violence against women and children with a focus on trauma. Owen shows incredible interest in providing psychotherapy practices to populations that are disenfranchised due to mental health or substance abuse disorders. Owen works with various demographic groups from young children to the elderly. He is experienced in integrating his knowledge of various cultures, ethnicities, religions and communities in his therapeutic practices. When appropriate, Owen utilizes techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and more. He has exceptional experience working with clients that have schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, anxiety, depression, substance use, eating disorders, behavioral issues, personality disorders, developmental delays, couple’s/relationship issues and trauma.
