How does it work?
Our therapists typically utilize EFT (Emotional focused therapy) strategies in relationship counseling sessions. EFT is a therapy strategy that addresses the distress that arises from an intimate relationship. This strategy derives from the idea that an individual fears abandonment, and when their partner does not meet their emotional needs, the individual may make unsuccessful attempts to get their partner to understand their emotions and related feelings.
This strategy helps to strengthen family connections, improve emotional attachment and communication. Clients that are exposed to EFT find the strategy beneficial because they can understand their emotional responses better as well as that of their significant other.
By working with us, our therapists will create a safe and open space for the couple to communicate their emotional needs and fears to each other. The therapist will then guide the couple with tactics on how to tend to each other’s needs.
